Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) removes excess skin and smooths bulging fat from the upper or lower eyelids. It treats heavy, hooded upper lids and puffy lower lid bags that make you look tired or older than you feel, and can widen your field of view when heavy upper lids get in the way.

Approach
- Consultation & Planning – We assess the eyelids, brows and skin, and check your eye health.
- Anaesthesia – Upper lids can be done under local anaesthetic; lower lids or combined surgery usually under general anaesthesia.
- Correction – Excess skin is removed and bulging fat smoothed or repositioned.
- Closure – Fine stitches are placed in the natural crease or just below the lashes.
- Recovery & Results – Stitches come out at 5–7 days; bruising settles over about 2 weeks.
Recovery
- Sleep with your head up for the first nights and use cold packs, wrapped in a clean cloth, for 24 hours.
- Use the eye ointment we give you as directed.
- Avoid contact lenses and eye make-up for about 2 weeks.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 2–4 weeks.
